Some of you may remember that, over the pre-Christmas period in our Kent office, Mark Styles and the team ran a snowball throwing competition to raise monies for charity.
We’re proud to announce the total that the competition raised was £267.49. We have match funded that amount bringing the total raised to £535.
This year a ‘cup and ball’ style Christmas tree was made; fluffy snowballs were acquired, and we invited clients and tenants to visit our offices for a play. For a donation 10 snowballs could be bought, and competitors had to try to get these into the Christmas tree’s cups.
The challenge ran for 3 weeks during December. Competition was stiff and we had plenty of people trying and retrying to try to win the prize – an Amazon Echo - but there could only be one winner.
Congratulations to Jack from Discovery Park Management Limited for pipping everyone to the post and walking away with the star prize. Jack narrowly beat Oli from YPrime and third was Hannah from TopVillas.
All the monies raised, and fund matched, will be sent to charity Red Trouser Day. Red Trouser Day is a volunteer run charity that raises funds for research, innovation and mental wellbeing to improve bowel cancer patient outcomes.
Paul Finch, chair of trustees and founder of Red Trouser Day said “Mark and his late sister have been massive supporters of the charity and we are very grateful that fundraising efforts continue in her name. We all miss her smile and enthusiasm, so this fun fundraising activity was very fitting.”
Mark Styles, site manager at Communicate Discovery Park said “We run a charity Christmas challenge from our office every year. It’s a great way to get tenants on the park together and have a bit of pre-Christmas fun, as well as raise monies for a charity. Red Trouser Day is one which is very close to my heart and I’m very pleased and proud to have raised so much to contribute towards their ongoing great work.”
Thank you to all that took part in the competition and donated towards our chosen cause.
